DC Marathon Swim, June 2022

It's been over a year since I've published a blog entry. I have about a million drafts, mostly about ice swimming, but nothing seems quite ready for or worthy of publication just yet. But, to keep things going just a bit (and at the encouragement of my kids, who seem to like the idea that I am a "blogger" and wonder if I still can be, having not published anything in 13 months), I wanted to at least share reflections and photos from a recent swim. DC Marathon Swim On June 18 2022, I embarked upon what was my toughest swim to date--the DC Marathon Swim. The DC Marathon Swim is a 20.5 mile marathon swim in the Potomac River, which is my "home river". I drive across or alongside the Potomac several times a day; we live 2 miles from its shore. I do much of my training in the Potomac, although I'm not able to swim close to my home as swimming is actually illegal in DC waters.
